National webinar on “Recent trends in Horticultural Entomology” organized by Department of Plant Protection, College of Horticulture, Jagudan on 22nd October, 2020. The webinar received excellent response with 1965 registered participants from the entire parts of the country. Out of the registered candidates, around 600 participants continuously remain present online during the webinar. At the initiation, Dr. R. S. Jaimin, Organizing secretary presents highlights of the webinar. Dr. A. U. Amin, Principal & Dean of our college welcome worthy vice-chancellor of Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Dr. R. N. Singh, Director of Research & Dean P. G. Studies, Dr. V. T. Patel, Director Extension Education, all the invited speakers and participants. He also summarized the horticulture in relation to the plant pathology.
Dr. R. N. Singh, Honourable Director of Research & Dean P. G. Studies enlightens the role of horticulture in food and nutritional economy of the nation. He focused on effect of disease management by the various integrated approaches for effective, ecological and economic returns. Moreover, he emphasized that there are vast scopes of diverse pathological approaches to increase the horticultural production and save the pathological approaches to increase Horticulture production and save the losses caused by diseases. He congratulated, Dr. A. U. Amin, Principal and Dean, Dr. R. S. Jaiman, organizing secretary, Naziya P. Pathan, co-organizing secretary and all the staffs of Department of Plant Protection for planning executing such a webinar on emerging issues in horticulture in the entire nation.

Shukla, Principal Scientist, Division of Crop Protection, Central Institute of Sub-Tropical Horticulture, Lucknow has emphasized on Integrated disease management in Mango and Guava. Dr. Sanjay K. Singh, Professor cum-Chief Scientist (Plant Pathology), Associate Director of Research, RPCAU, Pusa, Samastipur, Bihar narrated his view on Recent advancement & strategies in the integrated management of major diseases of banana and papaya. Dr. D. S. Patel, Professor & Head, Department of Plant Pathology, C.P. College of Agriculture, S.D. Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagarfocused on Integrated disease management in solanaceous vegetables. Dr. Y. K. Sharma, Principal Scientist, National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Tabiji, Ajmer narrated his view on Integrated disease management of seed spices. Dr. K. L. Gurjar, Deputy Director, PPQS, Faridabad highlighted the role of Quarantine standards for export of fruits and vegetables to various countries. Instead of Dr. R. G. Parmar, Associate Professor & Head, B.A. College of Agriculture, AAU, Anand (Gujarat), Dr. Pooja Pandey, discussed on integrated management of plant viral diseases in horticultural crops. Dr. R. S. Jaiman, Associate Professor, College of Horticulture, S. D. Agricultural University, Jagudan gave details information regarding Integrated disease management in crucifers and cucurbitaceous vegetables.
