Winter School on Enhancing Water Productivity in Agriculture

The Centre for Natural Resources Management, S. D. Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar organized an ICAR sponsored Winter School on "Enhancing Water Productivity in Agriculture for Scarcity Zones" during 20th November to 10th December, 2019.

Dr. R.K. Patel, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the university has been kind enough to chair the inaugural as well plenary function in gracious presence of the Deans, Directors, university officers, Scientists and Professors. Prof. R. B. Marviya, Executive Director (Agriculture), Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd., Gandhinagar adorned the valedictory function as Chief guest. A compendium consisted of the lectures of the speakers for the training was also released on the occasion.

The trainees, 23 partakers from different parts of the country representing academicians, scientists and extension educationists from Central / State Agricultural Universities, ICAR institutions, KVKs etc. participated in the program. The participants were imparted training on recent advances in various aspects of Enhancing Water Productivity in Agriculture and allied areas for Scarcity Zones by eminent experts of ICAR, SAUs, development departments and cooperative sectors. Relevant field exposure visits were also arranged to modern engineering marvel the Sardar Sarovar, IISWC, WALMI, world heritage honour Rani ki Vav, Spices Processing, Marketing and Research Centres, Banas dairy etc. beside most of the on campus locations.

The program, under self-motivated leadership of Dr. B, S. Deora, the Course Director, was meticulously structured by Course Co-directors Drs. C.K. Patel and B.S. Parmar, and Course Coordinators Dr. A.K. Saini and Er. J. J. Makwana with help of the team CNRM.
