Directorate of students’ welfare

Director, Students' Welfare is responsible for making
arrangements for housing, boarding and welfare of the students and
various co-curricular activities other than the class work . The
Director, Students' Welfare provides the program of students counseling
and help in the placement of the graduates and post graduates of
university . The ultimate objective is to groom the students to become a
good citizens of country by personality development and skill for
better living .
The University has no organizational setup for students’ welfare
activities and is managed by assigning additional duties to staff
members. As such the duties of Director Students’ Welfare have been
assigned to a professor rank official with a very small --- member cell
for assisting him in carrying out different welfare activities. The cell
also comprises different cadre officials assigned additional duties from
other departments for welfare activities.
Aims and objectives:

1. To make
arrangements for the housing and messing of students.
2. To arrange
programme of students counseling.
3. To arrange for
the employment of students in accordance with plans approved
by the Vice-Chancellor.
4. To supervise
the extra-co-curricular activities viz. sports, NSS, NCC, cultural
activities and look after the general needs of the students.
5. To impart
various training to the students to improve their overall
personality and communication skills for various competitive
examinations.
6. To conduct the
various public and private sectors/organizations for effective and
appropriate job placements and to conduct campus interview for
the student for early placements.
7. To provide
relevant information on various courses, admission procedures and
fellowships of financial assistance available for higher studies in
India and abroad.
8. To have
collaboration with various foreign Universities and to develop mutually
agreed upon exchange programmes for the University graduates.
9. To initiate a
special drive for the students to have direct access to internet and e-
mail facilities.
10. To organize
and maintain contact with the alumini association of the University.
11. To establish
liaison between students and teachers.
12. To select the
students for Gold Medals for Annual Convocation and to prepare the Gold
Medals every year.
13. To supervise
the disciplines of students in coordination of the Principals of the
respective colleges.
14. To create
facilities for the welfare of the students in coordination with the
Principals of the colleges.
15. To appoint
competent and efficient Rectors/ Assistant Rectors for the Hostels in
coordination with the Principals of the colleges.
16. To perform
such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the
Vice-Chancellor. |
