ASPEE College of Home science is a premier institute of Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University.This College was established during the year 1988 with the main objective of raising educational standard of women in general and of rural families in particular through teaching, research and extension activities. This college offers a four year B.Sc. (Hons) Home Science degree programme which has built in rural bias as Per the recommendations of ICAR. The students are exposed to field experience through practical classes and field work and are given professional orientation by offering elective courses. The course out line and syllabus has been updated reflecting the changing needs of rural families as well as to inculcate entrepreneurial skills in the students.

In addition to the four Year under graduate Programme the College also offers Post Graduate Programme (M.Sc. in Home Science) in two departments I. e. in Food cience and Nutrition Department and in the the Department of Extension and communication Management. The major emphasis of Post-Graduate Programme is on the researeh related to the problems confronted by the rural families.

The College has well developed Infrastructure facilities in terms of class rooms and practical laboratories. It has well trained faculty members who holds doctoral degrees in different specialized fields of Home science.The College lays emphasis on computer education, intensive practical work, in-plant training. The College also has a counselling and placement cell which provide Counselling and placement guidance for career opportunities for the outgoing students.

• Department of Extension and Communication Management.

During undergradute programme common courses are offered during the first two years followed by professional electives in the 3rd and 4th year in anyone of the disciplines of Home Science. Rural Awareness Work Experience and in -plant training in the areas of professional electives are also provided in the final year.

Gold Medals : Following Gold medal are given to B.sc.(Hons.)H.sc. Students :

In Addition to above Gold Medals

A Cash Prize of Rs. 950/- is also given to the U.G. Student for Obtdining maximum marks in Food Science.and Nutrition courses in the name of Jayendra Bala and Boghilal Shri Suresh Vaid.

Physical Infrastructure:

The College building has adequate number of lecture rooms which are well equiped with proper seating arrangements and teaching aids. Teachers use the latest Instructional methods and technologies like LCD Projector, over head projector, Slide projector etc to impart education to students.

College Library is well equipped with sufficient number of latest text books, reference books and periodicals.

Computer Laboratory have Xeroxing and internet,facilites where in students have been given free access to Internet facilities to enchance their competence in computer application.

Students counseling Cum Reading room is well equipped with tables chairs, display boards, magazine racks etc and latest periodicals are subscribed for career guidance of students.

Seminar hall is equipped with multimedia facilities where student's seminars are conducted and assignments are presented by the UG and PG Students. Students also practice for learning/handling and operation of various AV. equipments.

Food and Nutrition Laboratory : Chemistry Laboratory :

All departments have well equipped laboratories to enhance practical skills of the students

Balmandir Department of human development runs a balmandir for young children which is used as training laboratory for students to enhance their competencies in the managment of pre-school institutes viz nursery schools, day care centres, and balmandir etc.

Hostel Facility :- A Separate hostel only for girls which have all basic amenities, 24 hours security guard and facilities for in door and out door games within the premises of hostel.

Extra curricular Activities. Cullural Activities:

The College has a full fledged students Representative Council with staff advisors. It help students in organizing and participating in various functions likes Debates and elocution games and sports,

Cultural programmes, hostel cum annual days and other competitions Like rangoli, flower arrangements, dress competition etc.
