ASPEE College of Home Science was established in 1988 with the aim of raising educational standard of women in general and of rural families in particular through teaching, research and extension activities.

This college offers four-year B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science degree programme, which has built in rural bias as per the recommendations of ICAR. The students are exposed to field experience through practical classes and fieldwork and are given professional orientation by offering elective courses. The course outline and syllabus has been updated reflecting the changing needs of rural families as well as to inculcate entrepreneurial skills in the students.

In addition to the four year under graduate programme, the College also offers postgraduate programme (M.Sc. in Home Science) in two departments i.e. Food Science and Nutrition and Extension and Communication Management. The major emphasis of post-graduate programme is on research related to the problems confronted by the rural families.

The College has well developed infrastructure facilities in terms of classrooms and laboratories. It has well trained faculty members who holds doctoral degrees in different specialized fields of Home Science. The College lays emphasis on computer education, intensive practical work and in-plant training. It also has a counseling and placement cell, which provides counseling and placement guidance for career opportunities for the outgoing students.
