This department has tissue culture laboratory and now developing a new laboratory pertaining a plant biotechnological work.

i. Imparting instructions at under and post graduate level leading to B.Sc. (Agri.), M. Sc.(Agri.) and Ph.D in Plant Breeding & Genetics
ii. Planning and conducting research through P. G. students
iii. Research project are run sponsored by state government
