The Department of Seed Technology, at Sardarkrushinagar came into existence with the sanctioning of the scheme Establishment of Seed Cell Scheme in the year 1979. The main functions of this department are two fold. Firstly, to carry out research in the area of Seed Technology and secondly, large scale seed production of various classes breeder, foundation and certified seeds of different varieties of various crops. This department has 384 hectares of land. At present following projects are running under this department and carrying out the activities of seed research, seed production and land development.
