3. Delivered lectures to the T & V functionaries, Extension workers of state Department of Agriculture and Horticulture of the state as well as NGOs.
4. Preparation of latest technical literature in vernacular language in plant disease management.
8. Major achievements of the Departments:
1. Six different courses are offered by this department during different semesters at under-graduate level.
2. Fourteen different courses are offered by this department during different semesters at post graduate level.
3. At present seventeen M. Sc.(Agri.) and one Ph.D. students are under PG programme.
2. Fifteen students have been completed M. Sc. (Agri.) and eleven students have been completed Ph.D. degree from this department.
9. Research Recommendations for the Farmers (approved in joint AGRESCO 1984 onwards)
1. For effective control of powdery mildew of mustard, three sprays of 0.025% dinocap starting from appearing of disease at 15 days interval are recommended.
2. Farmers of North Gujarat Agro climatic Zone –IV are advised to sow mustard during second fortnight of October to have minimum white rust intensity and less powdery mildew diseases and thereby maximum yield.
3. For effective and economic management of blight diseases of cumin, seed treatment with MEMC (Emisan-6) @ 3 g/kg seed followed by four sprays of mancozeb 0.25% at 35,50,65 and 80 days after germination are recommended.
4. For effective and economic management of powdery mildew of fenugreek, the farmers of North Gujarat region are advised to dust sulphur 300 mesh @ 25 kg/ha or spraying of wettable sulphur 80 WP @50 gm per 10 liters of water three times at 15 days interval starting from the appearance of disease.
5. For effective and economic management of mango malformation, the farmers of North Gujarat Agro climatic Zone IV are advised to follow following management practices in the mango orchard after harvesting of mango fruits.
1. Pruning of malformed branches alone OR
2. Pruning of malformed branches + application of Bordeaux paste on pruned branches OR
3. Pruning of malformed branches+ one spray of 600ppm potassium metabisulphite during 1st week of October OR
4. Pruning of malformed branches+ one spray of 0.04%dicofol during 1st week of October OR
1. Pruning of malformed branches+ one spray of 100ppm carbendazim during 1st week of October
