Research on bio-fertilizers
Major achievement of the department:
- Developed simple modified medium for PSBs isolation.
- Identified Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens and Bacillus megaterium strains having ability to solubilize insoluble P.
- Isolated 18 strains of Azotobacter from north Gujarat.
- Isolated 5 strains of Azospirillum from root surface of different crop of North Gujarat.
- Isolated 16 strains of microorganisms having ability to solubilize P.
- Isolated 12 strains of fenugreek Rhizobium.
