Major achievements of the departments:

• Guided fifteen P.G. students leading to M. Sc. (Agri.) and three P.G. students leading to Ph.D in Agril. Economics.
• Five P.G. students are working to earn their M. Sc. (Agri.). and  two P.G. students are working to earn their Ph.D degree.

Future plan/thrust areas:

UG and PG teaching of  agril. Economics in agril. College as well as             UG teaching in Veterinary and Home science college.

Research schemes/projects at present:

• Scheme for farm cost studies of important crops in Gujarat State: Under this scheme data are collected for the crops like castor, tur, funnel, cumin, isbgul, potato and summer bajra from the selected farmers of North Gujarat zone pertaining to cost of these crops.
• Scheme for creating a permanent machinery for studying the cost of production / cultivation of principal crops.
• The data regarding cost of production of principal crops like wheat, cotton, bajra, groundnut, paddy and mustard were compiled from the selected farmers.
• Scheme for strengthening  research  in  Agri.  Economics:

1. An  economic analysis of export potential for Isabgul crop in North Gujarat
2. An Economic analysis of  marketing of Castor in  Banaskantha and Mehsana district of Gujarat state.
