The Directorate of Research co-ordinates location specific, strategic and anticipatory research on mandated crops and systems of agriculture to generate valuable data, technologies and tools to improve production /productivity, together with value addition of farm produce. To achieve this objective University has a network of 2 zonal, 5 main and 12 sub research stations with multidisciplinary research programmes focusing on crop/livestock improvement, natural resource and input management, seed/sappling production, post harvest  technology. Large scale adoption of University developed varieties along with useful recommendations has helped the state in stepping up the agriculture production.

Development of pre and post harvest processing technologies for value addition.

      Water shed development and management for sustainable agricultural development

      Development of technologies for sustainable & economic utilization of non conventional energy resources.
